YEAR OF THE STORM

Is a gripping drama about memory, identity, and survival. When Sipho Ndlovu, a talented young violinist, discovers a hidden letter that reveals his mother’s darkest secret, he is forced to confront the painful truth about his origins. As buried memories of the Gukurahundi massacres resurface, Sipho and his mother Thandi embark on a devastating journey through trauma, faith, and forgiveness.
Set between present-day Soweto and the violent storm of 1980s Matabeleland, the play explores the lasting scars of political violence and the difficult search for belonging. YEAR OF THE STORM asks whether the truth can heal wounds carried across generations, or whether some storms never truly pass.
